Over the years JC Metalworks has been involved with a number of charities and initiatives supporting young people, and the company continues to look for new ways to give back to the community and benefit people across Loughborough and the East Midlands.
JC Metalworks particularly appreciates the wonderful work of the Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and is pleased to have been able to contribute by raising funds through various events and activities. Earlier this year we raised money through a raffle draw for the Rainbows event ‘It’s a Knockout’ and on 2nd October our Managing Director Jason Chauhan will be running in aid of Rainbows in the London Marathon.
Jason said, “I have been very lucky to get a place in this year’s London Marathon. I decided to run for Rainbows not only because it is a good opportunity to raise money for the charity but also spread awareness of the amazing work they are doing.”
London Marathon 2022
The UK’s biggest and most iconic marathon, the London Marathon is known for its uplifting community spirit and sense of togetherness. It is an inspirational event and the ultimate challenge for many runners. The 26.2-mile journey takes in many iconic landmarks from Tower Bridge to Buckingham Palace, and with around 50,000 runners and thousands more spectators lining the streets the atmosphere at the London Marathon is like no other!
The Cause: Rainbows
Ever wondered what families go through if their child has a life-limiting or life-threatening disease? Life becomes an everyday challenge not only for the child but also for everyone around them. Not only is there the trauma of the treatment, but also the disruption brought to the entire family’s life.
Rainbows does a fantastic job in providing a ray of hope to families who find themselves in such devastating situations. The charity is dedicated to providing support to every child and young person to fulfill their potential, and helps families make the most of every precious moment, while capturing memories and keepsakes to treasure. It’s an unparalleled support system for the whole family.
Rainbows also provide comfort and compassion at the time of and following the death of a child or young person. Sometimes their incredible love and care creates miracles, helping children show signs of recovery in situations where there seemed to be no hope. One example of such a special child is ‘Kaleb the Brave’ whose mother said “Rainbows are simply wonderful, and we would not be here now if it wasn’t for them. Whenever we have been overwhelmed by darkness, Rainbows have provided little pockets of light.”
We are hoping to raise money for the Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. If you would like to donate, please follow the link below.
