From assembly to fabrication: A leap towards learning

Miroslaw’s story began in the assembly department, where his potential was quickly recognised. Within months, he stood out as a hardworking and talented operative. His dedication and skill soon caught the attention of Peter, the team leader of fabrication at the time. Recognising Miroslaw’s aptitude, Peter encouraged him to come on board in the forming or fabrication department as there were some job openings, He encouraged him to learn welding and join his team.

Although Desmond, a colleague at the time, initially suggested that Miroslaw return to the assembly, Miroslaw’s determination to learn and excel was evident. He dedicated himself to mastering the craft of welding, overcoming numerous challenges, and ultimately emerging as one of the department’s most skilled welders. Desmond, now a dear friend, is immensely proud of Miroslaw’s accomplishments. This early dynamic of encouragement and challenge helped shape Miroslaw’s strong work ethic, laying the foundation for his future success.

A Master of His Craft: Embracing Complexity

Miroslaw’s engineering background provided a solid foundation for his welding skills, enabling him to excel in his craft. While he finds most projects relatively straightforward, his true passion lies in tackling complex prototypes. The challenge of pushing boundaries and achieving perfection with intricate welds truly excites him. Miroslaw has become proficient in both MIG and TIG welding, mastering the techniques necessary for various materials.

He particularly enjoys working with his new TIG system, he is really impressed with its precise settings and ability to flawlessly weld materials like aluminium and stainless steel. For Miroslaw, fabricating prototypes is the most rewarding aspect of his job. He eagerly looks forward to complex projects that allow him to explore the depths of his skills and continuously push the envelope of what is possible.

Beyond the shop floor: A life well-rounded

Miroslaw’s dedication extends beyond the confines of the shop floor. He is an avid gardener, cultivating a haven filled with hundreds of blooming roses throughout the year. He grows a total of 148 different varieties of roses in his garden.He feels very happy spending time in his garden, which is filled with the beautiful aroma of roses in spring.

Miroslaw lives in Loughborough with his wife and two children; a son and a daughter. He enjoys various hobbies, such as skiing, snorkeling, and swimming, which provide a healthy balance to his challenging and rewarding career at JC Metalworks.

Message to young welders

Miroslaw emphasises the importance of giving 100% effort in the workplace. He finds laziness to be a demotivating factor. Miroslaw recalls the hard work and dedication of his peers over the years, noting the pride they felt in accomplishing tasks on time. He encourages young welders not to waste time and to give their best during work while also enjoying their free time. His message is clear: dedication and hard work pave the way for success and fulfilment.

Looking ahead: A future filled with hard work, travel and adventures

In the future, Miroslaw plans to remain dedicated to JC Metalworks and then enjoy travel adventures upon retirement. He is grateful to his teammates, especially Keshu, Desmond, and Vijay.
