OUTCOME

Consistent, Traceable Production

Background

A Supply Arrangement Built Around Annual Requirements

The Flamco Group, a member of Aalberts Industries N.V., develops, produces and sells high-quality components for HVAC systems. When Flamco reviewed its supply base against challenging cost and volume targets, it began discussions with JC Metalworks about the support it needed from a manufacturing supplier.

The relationship needed to address more than price alone. Flamco was looking for product quality, reliable deliveries, engineering support and responsiveness. The working arrangement was built around understanding annual requirements, placing batch orders when needed and delivering to an agreed schedule.

Challenge

Balance Cost, Volume and Delivery Requirements

Flamco was reviewing its supply base in response to challenging cost and volume targets. It needed a supplier that could support those requirements while maintaining quality, meeting agreed delivery timings and responding to engineering needs as products developed.

Competitive Pricing

Annual requirements needed to be understood so pricing could be considered against the scale of expected demand.

Reliable Deliveries

Batch orders could be placed as required, with deliveries made to a schedule agreed by both teams.

Consistent Quality

Quality control needed to be maintained across batches, including where production and delivery timelines varied.

Engineering Support and Responsiveness

Flamco wanted support during new product development, including engineering solutions that considered product robustness and competitive pricing.

Solution

A Supply Approach Combining Planning, Batch Delivery and Engineering Input

JC Metalworks worked with Flamco on the planning behind the supply arrangement and on product development. The approach brought together a view of annual requirements, a price matrix, batch orders raised when needed and deliveries made to an agreed schedule.

01 · ANNUAL REQUIREMENTS AND PRICE MATRIX

JC Metalworks worked with Flamco to understand its annual requirements and develop a pricing matrix aligned with expected demand. This provided a clear pricing basis as Flamco reviewed its supply base against challenging cost and volume targets.

02 · Batch Orders and Agreed Delivery Schedules

Flamco placed batch orders as and when they were needed, and JC Metalworks delivered against an agreed delivery schedule. This arrangement allowed Flamco to order in line with its requirements while keeping deliveries aligned with the timings agreed by both teams.

03 · Engineering Solutions for New Product Development

JC Metalworks also supported Flamco in the development of new products by providing engineering solutions that helped improve product robustness while maintaining competitive costs. This approach brought manufacturing expertise into the development process, helping to balance product requirements with cost considerations.

RESULTS

Consistent Supply, with Practical Traceability Across Batches

Over the course of the relationship, JC Metalworks supported Flamco with a consistent supply of quality products, maintaining quality control across batches regardless of the delivery timelines involved. One practical improvement was the addition of an identification sticker to each finished cabinet, helping support traceability through a simple, repeatable process.

Consistent supply of quality HVAC components.

Full cabinet traceability through individual ID labels.

Quality control maintained across production batches.

Batch deliveries aligned with agreed schedules.

It’s a pleasure working with JC Metalworks. They are able to add value, guarantee quality and hit our timelines. I look forward to working with them for many years to come.
