On 24th August, we hosted another fabulous event at JC Metalworks – a summer barbeque in our yard! Team JC had a great time enjoying a party with their colleagues.
Everyone in the company had been working extremely hard for the last couple of months to complete some challenging production schedules. This party was a much-deserved treat to say thank you to our amazing team, who should be very proud of their achievements.
After several months of planning, the big day arrived.We could not have picked a nicer day; it was a fantastic afternoon of celebration featuring a summer barbeque, games, music and dancing! We ate good food, played fun games, and enjoyed the company of our management and colleagues.
Activities
There were a large variety of games and activities together with a photobooth area and a table full of sweet treats. As there is ample space in our yard, many games were arranged including setting up a football goal. Our guys loved having a go at trying to score a goal. Other fun activities included darts, skittles, hoopla, coconut shy, bean toss, and Soak the Boss – which was a personal favourite for a lot of people since it included throwing cold wet sponges at all of the bosses!
The energy was unbelievable as the whole team came together to have great fun competing among themselves. We also listened to the music from our DJ Jack – who disguised himself and jogged around the yard in a fake moustache and made everyone laugh.
Barbeque
After many conversations, lots of laughs and plentiful games, we enjoyed a classic Greek barbeque complete with Marinated Chicken Souvlaki, Minced Lamb Skewers, Proper Pork Gyros, Grilled Cypriot Halloumi Kebab and a large selection of salads, served on a toasted sourdough flatbread with dressed salad and a homemade Greek slaw. Thanks to the Travelling Taverna!
Ice cream
Just after the food we had an ice cream van ring its bells and our staff enjoyed their favourite ice cream flavours. Thanks to Mrs Sprinkles Ices ice cream van
Highlight
The Punjabi Dhol performers became the highlight of the day with everyone trying to shake a leg.

Whilst all of this was happening everyone was making use of the handmade photobooth and signs, which contributed so much to create the happy vibe alongside the throwback songs from Jack’s very own record player.
We all had a great time at this year’s Greek barbeque and can’t wait for next year!

Thankfully the rain held off and our celebrations continued.
