Congratulations to our Team leader Gary Simpson who recently celebrated 10 years’ service

Gary is celebrating 10 years’ service at JC Metalworks this month. He started as a temporary agency worker, with no previous experience in sheet metal fabrication. His sheer dedication and attitude towards learning has enabled him to become a very accomplished team leader. He is very proud of his achievements and pleased that JC have acknowledged his hard work.

As a team leader, Gary manages the Powder Coating Department, allocating and scheduling jobs in accordance with the dispatch date. He manages tasks according to his “5 Ps”:

• Powder – ensuring there is enough in stock

• People – assessing the number of operatives needed for each project

• Plan – planning according to color changes and complexity of assembly

• Plant – keeping up-to-date service and maintenance records

• Parts – checking in advance all the parts are in stock.

By following this simple but effective self-made process each day, he remains on top of everything.

The Powder Coating Department is always busy, with a constant stream of jobs queued up. Gary loves demanding production schedules and manages them with admirable efficiently. He keeps ahead with planning in consultation with the Assembly Department, prioritising parts which require complex assembly.

As a father of four kids, Gary is both fun and very responsible. Outside of work he enjoys watching football and playing on his X-Box.
