Maxim, an award-winning design company with over 30 years’ experience, is a trusted name in retail display systems, lockers, and storage solutions, covering all aspects of point-of-sale design and implementation.
Challenge
Maxim needed a highly secure, yet visually attractive retail display solution to protect high-value vape products susceptible to theft in high-traffic, demanding sector environments. The solution had to be robust, secure, and ready for a large volume rollout. The key pain point was balancing high security (tamper-proof locking systems) with high-quality aesthetic appeal (LED illumination, clean design) for immediate store deployment.

Maxim leveraged JC Metalworks’ 35 years of expertise and latest technology to transform their visual concept into a scalable, manufacturable product.
DESIGN ENGINEERING:
Our team, including Account Manager Steve and Design Engineer Jake, developed detailed structural drawings from a basic visual. We manufactured a prototype that required only minor security refinements.
STRUCTURAL AND SECURITY INTEGRATION:
Fabricated from precision laser-cut and folded mild steel for strength and lightness. Integrated enhanced door locking systems and tamper-proof features for maximum theft protection. Included plug-and-play electrical systems and integrated LED illumination
for quick, safe installation and superior product visibility.
VALUE ENGINEERING:
We optimised the design using standardised, modular components and efficient fabrication stages, ensuring a cost-effective solution
without compromising the premium aesthetic finish (durable powder coating).
Results
The solution delivered outstanding fit, finish, and performance, successfully meeting the client’s high security and quality demands.
Security: The enhanced security features led directly to ZERO theft issues reported since installation, solving Maxim’s primary challenge.
Volume: The robust design is highly scalable, with 25 units successfully produced and installed, and an additional 50 more units currently in the production pipeline.
Quality: Durable powder-coated finish and precise fabrication ensured a high-quality, attractive fixture built for high-traffic use.
