JC Metalworks through the eyes of one of our longest-serving employees
Vijay joined us in 2004 when we had just ten employees. He started with a metal fabrication job, and learned welding, cutting, drilling, marking out and measuring using metalworking guillotines. He proceeded to linishing, acid cleaning, and polishing.
After his very first year, with Jack and Paul as his mentors, he learned to perform flawless TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium. 2016 saw many impressive developments in his department with the installation of extraction systems in each individual welding bay. Vijay has always been excited about the sophisticated equipment JC Metalworks continually invests in, the latest being the TIG and MIG robotic systems.
He has remained enthusiastic towards learning throughout, up-skilling himself over the years and putting his experience to good use by mentoring most of the Fabrication Team. Looking back on his time at JC, he said “I’ve always enjoyed my work here, and there have been many opportunities to grow my career. The atmosphere is great, my teammates are very supportive and there is a great flow of communication.”
