J.C. Metalworks has completed installing a new ITW Gema powder coating system at its Bishop Meadow Road manufacturing site in Loughborough. ITW Gema are recognised as world leaders in the supply of Automatic Powder Coating Systems. The equipment chosen by J.C. consists of 6 x reciprocator mounted powder guns, powder reclamation booth, Magic Center’, three stage online pre-treatment, drying oven and curing oven. The entire system is controlled by a PLC panel.

J.C. Metalworks are sheet metal sub contractors. The company’s recent move into larger premises has enabled its management team to invest in a major upgrade of its in-house powder coating capability.

Jason Chauhan, Managing Director of J.C. Metalworks, said, ‘Our customers supply products to major brand owners and they demand the highest quality finish. The Gema system produces a consistent and even finish on parts which was difficult to maintain with the old manual system. With the Magic Center’ and powder reclamation booth, we have the capabilities to make fast colour changes and recycle unused powder making the plant extremely efficient.’
