Loughborough College Enterprise & Apprenticeship Careers Event

12th March 2015   |   News

Next week, JC Metalworks will be attending Loughborough College’s Enterprise Careers event. Anyone looking for an apprenticeship in the metalworking industry can learn more about the opportunities with us that will help to jumpstart their careers. This includes those who are part/recently qualified apprentices.

Metalworking is an industry that offers plenty of variety with excellent career prospects. At JCMetalworks in particular, we offer our apprentices and support staff the chance to advance within the company via promotion opportunities. An example of this in-company growth is Gary Simpson. When Gary first started at JC, he worked as an Operative on the shop floor. He has progressed through various grades to his current position of Team Leader, seeing him responsible for a team of ten.

As a fast-growing engineering and manufacturing company, we provide our apprentices with the opportunity to develop their skills and enhance their expertise in what has become a very ‘in-demand’ industry. To this end, JC Metalworks provides a twelve month development programme within the 3 year apprenticeship framework providing time and access within all of our departments for trainees. Apprentices will obtain experience in cutting, forming, welding, powder coating and assembly to gain wide-ranging knowledge of various disciplines in the metalworking industry so that apprentices will feel comfortable when deciding upon their preferred career choice.

‘We hope to recruit 3 or 4 apprentices this year,’ says Ann Robinson, Human Resources Manager at JC Metalworks. ‘Our apprenticeship programme provides trainees with a great opportunity for professional development and can help them get off to a great start in their career’.

Visit us at The Hub on Thursday 19th March at Loughborough College between 11am and 2pm to learn how an apprenticeship with JC Metalworks will help to propel you into a successful career in manufacturing and metalworking.

If you cannot make the event, you can still learn more about apprenticeships at JC Metalworks by giving us a call at: 01509 233280 or by reading the document attached.

Recently or part qualified apprentices, as well as those considering an apprenticeship in engineering/manufacturing, should email (including your CV) careers@jcmetalworks.co.uk for more information.
