Background

Rainbows Hospice is the only hospice in the East Midlands for children and young people. Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. Rainbows depends on fundraising to raise the majority of the money it takes to run the hospice, with their retail outlet stores providing both an important visual reminder of the charity in communities across the East Midlands, as well as vital financial contributions.

Challenge

To take the visual concept created for the new shop in Loughborough, Leicestershire and manufacture all retail fixtures and fittings required. We were given 3 – 4 weeks from design to manufacture and delivery.

Solution

Our Engineering Manager sat down with Karen Bisby, Head of Retail at Rainbows and went through the store concept, what exactly was required and the specifications pertaining to the requirement, the timelines our client and her team were working to and, of course, the available budget.

Following that meeting our Engineering Manager produced all technical drawings for the retail fixtures and fittings which were submitted for our client’s approval. Once approval was given we went into the manufacturing stage.

Results

Working with Rainbows we took the original visual concept and turned it into reality, with this latest outlet store opening on time. JC Metalworks manufactured all of the perimeter wall sections and mid floor fixtures as well as created a bespoke noticeboard for the till-point allowing Rainbows to add quirky messages to shoppers using magnetic letters. A great feature and a particular favourite with Rainbows staff and shoppers alike!

We are very excited to be returning to our home town of Loughborough with our latest shop which we want to be our flagship store. I would like to thank JC Metalworks for their long time support and especially for their expertise and help with this project which helped to ensure that we opened on time and to budget!
